Welcome to Lux Landscaping
We design, lay and renovate driveways for homes in Harlow and East London.
Send us photos of your driveway on WhatsApp and we will give you a full written quote, with honest advice on the best surface for your home and budget. A good driveway starts with the right base and drainage, so we get those right before we lay anything on top.
Our driveway services
Not sure which surface suits your home? We will talk you through cost, upkeep and looks, then recommend what fits.
Block paving
Concrete or clay blocks in herringbone, basket weave or stretcher bond, laid on a compacted sub-base with sharp-sand bedding and kiln-dried sand jointing. Easy to repair, in many colours.
Resin bound
Natural stone mixed with clear resin and trowelled smooth. Porous, so it meets drainage rules without planning permission. Non-slip, weed-resistant and free of loose stones.
Resin bonded
A resin layer with stone scattered on top for a textured, grippy finish. Quicker and more affordable than resin bound, and a good fit for steeper drives.
Tarmac and asphalt
A fast, hard-wearing, budget-friendly surface. Laid in a base and wearing course, rolled smooth, with crisp edging.
Gravel
Classic and affordable. We use a stabilising grid and weed membrane so the stones stay put, in colours from golden to slate grey.
Imprinted and stamped concrete
Poured concrete patterned and coloured to look like slate, cobble or brick. Seamless, long-lasting and sealed to protect the colour.
Plain concrete
Strong, simple and low maintenance. Reinforced where needed, with brushed or power-floated finishes and properly cut joints to control cracking.
Natural stone and setts
Granite setts, sandstone and limestone for a premium, timeless look. Each stone is hand-laid and lasts for decades.
Porcelain paving
Slim, stain-resistant porcelain slabs in modern finishes. Ideal for contemporary homes where a clean look matters.
Permeable (SuDS) paving
Paving that lets rainwater soak through to the ground or an attenuation layer. Helps you avoid planning permission on front gardens and reduces puddling.
Resurfacing and repair
Sunken blocks, potholes, cracks, faded surfaces and weeds. We can often lift, relay, jet-wash, re-sand and seal rather than replace, saving you money.
Cleaning and sealing
Pressure washing, moss and oil-stain treatment, then sealing to restore colour and lock the joints.
Edging, kerbs and borders
Granite, concrete or brick edging to hold your surface in place and give a neat boundary, plus planting borders and step details.
Drainage
Channel drains, soakaways and falls set correctly so water never pools by your door or runs onto the road.
Dropped kerbs and access
We help you apply to the council to lower the kerb outside your home, which you need before driving on or off. Works are carried out by approved contractors.
EV charger groundwork
Ducting and trenching laid ahead of time so a charge point can be fitted later without digging up your new drive.
Lighting and finishing touches
Ground lighting, planting borders and matching paths, steps and patios so everything ties together.
Old driveway removal
Breaking out, excavating and clearing old concrete, tarmac or paving, with waste taken away by a licensed carrier.
How it works
Send photos, get your quote
Message us your photos on WhatsApp. We talk through materials and send a full written quote with no hidden extras.
Dig out and build the base
The old surface is removed, the ground is levelled for drainage and a compacted sub-base goes down. This is what makes a drive last.
Lay, finish and hand over
We lay your chosen surface, add edging, clean up and walk you through aftercare.

Driveway questions answered
How much does a new driveway cost?
It depends on size, material, ground conditions and drainage. Resin, block paving and stone cost more than tarmac, gravel or plain concrete. Send us photos of your driveway on WhatsApp and we will give you a full written quote.
How long does it take?
Most driveways take a few days to a week, depending on size and surface. Resin and concrete need extra time to cure before cars can drive on them.
Do I need planning permission?
Not usually if the surface is permeable or rainwater drains to a lawn or border within your property. Paving more than 5 square metres of front garden with a non-porous surface generally needs permission, so we will advise you before work starts. Check with your local council for your exact property.
Do I need a dropped kerb?
If your drive crosses a pavement or verge, yes. The council must approve it and approved contractors do the work. We can guide you through the application.
Which surface lasts longest?
Natural stone and well-laid block paving can last 25 years or more. Resin and good tarmac often give 15 to 25 years with basic upkeep. A proper sub-base matters more than the surface itself.
Can you fix my existing driveway instead of replacing it?
Often yes. Sunken blocks, cracks and stains can usually be repaired, relaid, cleaned and sealed for much less than a full replacement.
Are you insured and do you guarantee your work?
Yes. We carry public liability insurance and every job comes with a written guarantee. Add your insurance level and guarantee length here.
